Flora Zeledon

Flora Zeledón Castaing graduated in Fine Arts, completed her studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Costa Rica, specializing in painting in 1977. She has also completed studies in painting engraving, woodcut, sculpture and paper manufacturing in Italy. Her career has allowed her to perform in many exhibitions in Costa Rica, as well as
other countries. She has participated in national and international biennials of painting since the 1970s, and exhibitions in Costa Rica, Mexico, Cuba, France, Spain, Italy, Japan, Slovakia and Czech Republic. She has also highlighted her work as a national watercolorist so her work (and life) has been published and awarded; for example, with the Aquileo J. Echeverría Award with the Costa Rican National Association of Watercolor Artists, from which she is a founding member. She has received awards and honors within and outside the country, private and state competitions, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, National Insurance Institute and the Municipality of San José. Herwork is in public and private galleries and collections.
